Wk 1 Matches

DIVISION A -

Kdub v BigJonS

McIlroy V Els
Els V Furyk
Wood V Z.Johnson
Noh V Wood
Van Pelt V GFC

Barnes V Ferrie

Barnes V Ferrie is halved as neither are due to play this week. Els goes up against a no show for both teams, Chris Wood also involved for both teams so the key matchup is Van Pelt V GFC.

The gents persuader v Man Utd's #1 Fan

Woods V Els
Westwood V Z.Johnson
Donald V P.Hanson
Watney V Levet
Tim Wilkinson V Flesch
Jarrod Lyle V Hutsby

MU go in as red hot favourite having filled all 6 berths compared with tgp's 2 cheapie enablers. However a no show outscores a missed cut 0v-2 so all is not lost just yet

Spencer4 v Pa102aw

Mickelson V Els
Westwood V C.Campbell
Els V GFC
Holmes
V Imada
K.Stadler V Chopra
Henry V J.Ogilvie

Pa maybe has a slight edge with 5 starters to Sp4's 4 - looks fairly evenly balanced though

Stu961 v TFG

Westwood V Els
Casey V Vijay
Poulter V Sergio
Jaidee V T.Clark
Choi V R.Davies
Fowler V Flesch

Stu's strategy seems to be 'let TFG fail' - needless to say it may prove to be the correct decision - 2 games halved already

Hellmole v Bye

DIVISION B -

Trickster1 v Jonathan

Els V Van Pelt
Jiminez V Dinwiddie
Watney V Bebb
Choi V Lorenzo-Vera
P.Hanson V O'Hara
Noh V Price

Jonathan's cheap'n'cheerful squad go in all guns blazing against the Trickster - however the guns look to be empty water pistols ;)

Padmole v Lister

Els V Els
Watney V P.Hanson
S.Hansen V Flesch
Derksen V Atwal

Hayes V Khan
Stroud V Riley

With the top game already halved, this one looks set to go to the wire

Hotpot v Toffeelover

Els V Els
C.Campbell V S.Hansen

Finch V Noh
Whiteford V Driscoll
Couch V Maggert
Wilkinson V Ruiz

Hotpot looks like he has his work cut out to beat League 'whipping boy' Toffeelover - could be the upset of the week

Exeter Up Start v Logans Run

Els V Casey
Vijay V Harrington
S.Hansen V Furyk
Hutsby V Jaidee
Blanks V Noh
Mulroy V Matt Jones

This one looked to strongly favour Ex but a stumbling opening day coupled with a red hot start for Matt Jones means Logans run could well walk away with the win.

Mr Green v Bye

DIVISION A -

Kdub v BigJonS

McIlroy V Els 0-22
Els V Furyk 22-0
Wood V Z.Johnson 18v-2
Noh V Wood 2-18
Van Pelt V GFC
2-18
Barnes V Ferrie 0-0

As predicted the BVP - GFC matchup was critical, GFC claimed the win there giving Big Jon's team a 3.5-2.5 victory

The gents persuader v Man Utd's #1 Fan

Woods V Els 0-22
Westwood V Z.Johnson 0v-2
Donald V P.Hanson 0-32
Watney V Levet 0-2
Tim Wilkinson V Flesch 2-15
Jarrod Lyle V Hutsby
2-2

tgp gets a pasting in a rather humbling 4.5-1.5 defeat but its not enough to give MU#1Fan top spot in the A Division

Spencer4 v Pa102aw

Mickelson V Els 0-22
Westwood V C.Campbell 0-2
Els V GFC 22-18
Holmes
V Imada 15-0
K.Stadler V Chopra 2-2
Henry V J.Ogilvie
2-2

A real tight one here that all hinged on Els V GFC, Ernie edged it late leaving honours even in a 3-3 draw

Stu961 v TFG

Westwood V Els 0-22
Casey V Vijay 0-2
Poulter V Sergio 0-2
Jaidee V T.Clark 0-0
Choi V R.Davies 0-0
Fowler V Flesch 0-15

TFG annihilates Stu in a 5-1 humiliation sending both teams to opposite ends of the table

Hellmole v Bye

1. TFG 1-1-0-0-5-1-2
2. MU#1Fan 1-1-0-0-4.5-1.5-2
3. BigJonS 1-1-0-0-3.5-2.5-2
4. Spencer4 1-0-1-0-3-3-1
4. Pa102aw 1-0-1-0-3-3-1
6. Hellmole 0-0-0-0-0-0-0
7. Kdub 1-0-0-1-2.5-3.5-0
8. TGP 1-0-0-1-1.5-4.5-0
9. Stu961 1-0-0-1-1-5-0

DIVISION B -

Trickster1 v Jonathan

Els V Van Pelt 22-2
Jiminez V Dinwiddie 0-10
Watney V Bebb 0v-2
Choi V Lorenzo-Vera 0v-2
P.Hanson V O'Hara 32-2
Noh V Price
2-6

Trickster breezes through this opening fixture with a 4-2 win, proving (on this occasion) that quality beats quantity

Padmole v Lister

Els V Els 22-22
Watney V P.Hanson 0-32
S.Hansen V Flesch -2v15
Derksen V Atwal
2-6
Hayes V Khan -2v2
Stroud V Riley
-2v-2

Padmole takes a right royal humping, going down 5-1 to Lister

Hotpot v Toffeelover

Els V Els 22-22
C.Campbell V S.Hansen
2v-2
Finch V Noh 0-2
Whiteford V Driscoll 0-14
Couch V Maggert 0v-2
Wilkinson V Ruiz
2-14

Finally something to celebrate in the Toffee household as the 'lovers' edge past Hotpot 3.5-2.5

Exeter Up Start v Logans Run

Els V Casey 22-0
Vijay V Harrington 2-0
S.Hansen V Furyk -2v0
Hutsby V Jaidee 2-0
Blanks V Noh 2-2
Mulroy V Matt Jones
17-7

Logans run never got past a brisk walk this week as they go down 4.5-1.5

Mr Green v Bye

1. Lister 1-1-0-0-5-1-2
2. Exeter Up Start 1-1-0-0-4.5-1.5-2
3. Trickster 1-1-0-0-4-2-2
4. Toffeelover 1-1-0-0-3.5-2.5-2
5. Mr Green 0-0-0-0-0-0-0
6. Hotpot 1-0-0-1-2.5-3.5-0
7. Jonathan 1-0-0-1-2-4-0
8. Logans Run 1-0-0-1-1.5-4.5-0
9. Padmole 1-0-0-1-1-5-0

A Division

Kdub (0-0-1)v Pa102aw(0-1-0)

Mickelson V Casey
Kaymer V Watney
Donald V GFC
Jiminez V Slocum
Choi V Cabrera-Bello
Van Pelt V Imada

Kdub sends out one of the strongest looking squads on paper this week, however Pa's team are all capable and could just sneak this one.

TGP (0-0-1)V TFG(1-0-0)

Kaymer V Furyk
Donald V Garcia
Watney V Vijay
Lowry V T. Clark
Storm V Flesch
Zanotti V O.Fisher

TFG's got to be disappointed in having Rhys Davies as his first reserve following the Welshman's impressive opening round -7 this morning. Another fairly even looking match though with tgp slight favourites

Hellmole (0-0-0)V Stu961(0-0-1)

Mickelson V Poulter
Cabrera V Mahan
Crane V Jaidee
Marino V F. Molinari
Pe. Lawrie V Choi
Canizares V Fowler

Hellmole makes her belated debut into the Matchplay comp, but Stu has gone in all guns blazing this week after his demoralising week 1 loss to TFG. Should be honours to Stu come Monday morning

Man United's #1 Fan (1-0-0)V Spencer4(0-1-0)

Mickelson V Mickelson
T. Clark V Donald
Kuchar V T. Clark
R. Davies V Imada
Flesch V Ramsay
Anderson-Hed V JJ Henry

The top match is halved already, Tim Clark will inevitably swing the vote in matches 2 and 3 leaving the final 3 matches to sort this one out & MU looks much the stronger

BigJonS (1-0-0)v Bye

Big Jon's 100% run lives for at least 1 more week

B Division

Trickster (1-0-0)v Toffeelover(1-0-0)

Mickelson V Casey
Mahan V Furyk
Jiminez V Donald
Watney V Yang
Choi V T. Clark
Luiten V Van Pelt

The only matchup of the week with 2 100% win teams & neither look like they want to relinquish the honour as both post strong teams with depth - should go to the wire & Trickster edges favouritism due only to the 2 teams comparitive league positions in the main game.

Padmole (0-0-1)V Logans Run(0-0-1)

Mahan V Casey
Watney V Furyk
Jaidee V Kuchar
S. Hansen V Jaidee
E. Molinari V Choi
F. Molinari V Pe. Lawrie

Padmole looks a bit lightweight in the early matches but his strength in depth is second to none, will it be enough to see him home against a Logans Run team that will battle to the last. With both these teams staring down the barrel of an 0-0-2 start, both will be keen to win

Mr Green (0-0-0)V Exeter Up Start(1-0-0)

Mickelson V Furyk
Poulter V Donald
Furyk V Kuchar
Moore V McDowell
Fraser V S. Hansen
Blanks V Fraser

Mr Green's strategy looks to be to try and put this tie to bed early and rely on Marcus Fraser to either win or lose BOTH his matches. if Exeter can get a point or more from the first 3 matches then I'm sure he'll fancy his chances of a 2nd win.

Lister(1-0-0) V Hotpot(0-0-1)

Mickelson V Mickelson
Donald V Kuchar
Immelman V F. Molinari
Flesch V Oosthuizen
Couch V Wen-Chong Liang
Gallacher V O. Fisher

Some left field selections here make this a tough match to call. I make Hotpot favourite despite Lister's impressive form of the last 2 weeks

Jonathan (0-0-1) v Bye

Jonathan avoids defeat ;)

Hellmole (0-0-0)V Stu961(0-0-1)

Mickelson V Poulter
Cabrera V Mahan
Crane V Jaidee
Marino V F. Molinari
Pe. Lawrie V Choi
Canizares V Fowler

Hellmole makes her belated debut into the Matchplay comp, but Stu has gone in all guns blazing this week after his demoralising week 1 loss to TFG. Should be honours to Stu come Monday morning

I dont think this looks that way - offer odds ;0)

Poulter.Likely to be battered
Cabrera can easily beat Mhan
Crane as good as Jaidee
Marino - OUCH
Peter Lawrie - OK starting to look shaky
Canizares - Take it all back

;0)

Choi V Cabrera-Bello - Choi wins
Van Pelt V Imada - Van Pelt wins

2-2 with 4 games over early, Gonzo doing his best to make his match with Donald interesting, whilst Watney maybe has the edge on Kaymer but needs to get inside the top 20 to make it count.

Kaymer V Furyk - Kaymer wins
Donald V Garcia - Donald wins
Watney V Vijay
Lowry V T. Clark

Cabrera V Mahan - Cabrera wins
Crane V Jaidee - Crane wins

Mahan V Casey - Casey wins
Watney V Furyk - Watney wins
Jaidee V Kuchar - Kuchar wins

Donald V Garcia - Donald wins 2-0
Watney V Vijay - Match halved 2.5-0.5

Luiten V Van Pelt - van Pelt wins 2.5-3.5

Toffee keeps his 100% record in the Matchplay & shows once again he is not to be taken lightly in a Fantasy Golf competition.

Padmole (0-0-1)V Logans Run(0-0-1)

Mahan V Casey - Casey wins 0-1
Watney V Furyk - Watney wins 1-1
Jaidee V Kuchar - Kuchar wins 1-2
S. Hansen V Jaidee - Match halved 1.5-2.5
E. Molinari V Choi - Choi wins 1.5-3.5
F. Molinari V Pe. Lawrie - Molinari wins 2.5-3.5

Padmole is pointless, 'nuff said ;)

Mr Green (0-0-0)V Exeter Up Start(1-0-0)

Mickelson V Furyk - Match halved 0.5-0.5
Poulter V Donald - Donald wins 0.5-1.5
Furyk V Kuchar - Kuchar wins 0.5-2.5
Moore V McDowell - McDowell wins 0.5-3.5
Fraser V S. Hansen - Fraser wins 1.5-3.5
Blanks V Fraser - Blanks wins 2.5-3.5

Mr Green's lack of depth wasn't the problem as his weak links both won, just a shame his big guns misfired

Lister(1-0-0) V Hotpot(0-0-1)

Mickelson V Mickelson - Match halved 0.5-0.5
Donald V Kuchar - Donald wins 1.5-0.5
Immelman V F. Molinari - Molinari wins 1.5-1.5
Flesch V Oosthuizen - Oosthuizen wins 1.5-2.5
Couch V Wen-Chong Liang - Match halved 2-3
Gallacher V O. Fisher - Gallacher wins 3-3

A great fightback from Lister to rescue a point.

Jonathan (0-0-1) v Bye

Jonathan avoids defeat ;)

8. Jonathan 1-0-0-1-2-4-0

In the B Division things are already much more spread out, with Paddy making one of his trademark slow starts ;)

DIV A
Kdub V Man U's #1 Fan

Mickelson V Mickelson
Kaymer V Els
Donald V Donald
Jiminez V T. Clark
Choi V Kuchar
Wood V R. Davies

2 matches halved already, Wood V Davies looks like it could be a real Barnburner & Wood's BR today may be critical come Monday morning.

The gents persuader V Hellmole

Kaymer V Mickelson
Els V McIlroy
Donald V Els
Watney V Cabrera
Donaldson V Marino
Zanotti V Pe. Lawrie

A pretty evenly balanced affair with no real mis-matches. I'd prefer to have Hellmole's team though but this one should be close.

BigJonS V Pa102aw

Els V Villegas
Furyk V Watney
Mahan V E. Molinari
Donald V GFC
Z. Johnson V Cabrera-Bello
Wood V Ogilvie

Pa's lack of depth looks like being cruelly exposed by Big Jon as he seeks to keep the only 100% record in Div A

Spencer4 V TFG

Mickelson V Mickelson
Donald V Els
T. Clark V Furyk
F. Molinari V T. Clark
JB Holmes V Davies
Ramsay V Donaldson

With the top match halved and precious little between the two teams this one should be a real nail biter. My natual pessimism about my team should make Spencer favourites but I think I might just nick this one.

Stu961 v Bye

DIV B

Trickster V Lister

Mickelson V Mickelson
Els V Els
Mahan V Donald
Jiminez V P.Hanson
Watney V Gallacher
Choi V Khan

Trickster has the depth, Lister looks to have the more 'in-form' players. 2 games halved already - Trickster should win, but will he ?

Padmole V Mr Green

Els V Mickelson
Mahan V Furyk
Watney V Moore
E. Molinari V B. Watson
F. Molinari V Fraser
Derksen V Blanks

Mr G sticks with his top heavy tactics whilst Paddy prefers to spread the love. Paddy, I think you have this one in the bag (send the money 1st class recorded delivery Mr G  )

Jonathan V Toffeelover

Mickelson V Els
R. Fisher V Donald
YE Yang V T. Clark
Kuchar V McDowell
van Pelt V F. Molinari
Barnes V Davies

Yet again a Mickelson-Els matchup to kick us off, I like Toffee's bottom (oo-er Mrs) 3, and they should be able to turn round any deficit from the top 3 games.

Hotpot V Logans Run

Mickelson V Furyk
Els V Kuchar
Donald V Jaidee
Kuchar V Choi
F. Molinari V Pe. Lawrie
Oosthuizen V M. Jones

On paper this is a walk in the park for Hotpot. However, Logans Run are fighters and will battle to the death - in fact they could be re-christened this week to Logan's Grinders

HALF TIME REPORT

DIV A

Kdub (1-0-1) V Man U's #1 Fan (1-0-1)

Mickelson V Mickelson - Match halved
Kaymer V Els - Kaymer wins
Donald V Donald - Match halved
Jiminez V T. Clark
Choi V Kuchar
Wood V R. Davies

Wood - Davies in the anchor match looks to be crucial, Kdub a reasonably strong favourite now.

The gents persuader (1-0-1) V Hellmole (0-1-0)

Kaymer V Mickelson
Els V McIlroy - McIlroy wins
Donald V Els - Donald wins
Watney V Cabrera - Match halved
Donaldson V Marino
Zanotti V Pe. Lawrie - Lawrie wins

Hellmole looks to have this one in the bag, leading 2.5-1.5 & ahead in the other two matches

BigJonS (1-0-0) V Pa102aw (0-1-1)

Els V Villegas - Villegas wins
Furyk V Watney - Furyk wins
Mahan V E. Molinari - Molinari wins
Donald V GFC
Z. Johnson V Cabrera-Bello - Johnson wins
Wood V Ogilvie - Wood wins

Big Jon leads 3-2 & the Donald V Gonzo game could go to the final green on Sunday evening - two things for sure Pa remains winless & Jon remains unbeaten

Spencer4 (1-1-0) V TFG (1-0-1)

Mickelson V Mickelson - Match halved
Donald V Els - Donald wins
T. Clark V Furyk
F. Molinari V T. Clark
JB Holmes V Davies
Ramsay V Donaldson

Spencer has a slight edge early but its nip and tuck through the undercard. Could still go either way but Spencer very much in the box seat now.

Stu961 (0-1-1) v Bye

DIV B

Trickster (1-0-1) V Lister (1-1-0)

Mickelson V Mickelson - Match halved
Els V Els - Match halved
Mahan V Donald - Donald wins
Jiminez V P.Hanson
Watney V Gallacher - Gallacher wins
Choi V Khan - Choi wins

Lister 3-2 up at the half but Trickster remains a strong favourite to claim a draw

Padmole (0-0-2) V Mr Green (0-0-1)

Els V Mickelson - Mickelson wins
Mahan V Furyk - Furyk wins
Watney V Moore - Moore wins
E. Molinari V B. Watson
F. Molinari V Fraser - Molinari wins
Derksen V Blanks - Match halved

Not even close, 3.5-1.5 at HT gives Mr G an unassailable lead - Paddy slips to an 0-3 start, he now has a mountain to climb to make the Quarters

Jonathan (0-0-1) V Toffeelover (2-0-0)

Mickelson V Els - Mickelson wins
R. Fisher V Donald - Donald wins
YE Yang V T. Clark
Kuchar V McDowell
van Pelt V F. Molinari
Barnes V Davies

1 each at the half and all to play for, too tight to call for me at this stage but if pushed I'd side with Toffee

Hotpot (0-1-1) V Logans Run (1-0-1)

Mickelson V Furyk
Els V Kuchar - Kuchar wins
Donald V Jaidee
Kuchar V Choi
F. Molinari V Pe. Lawrie
Oosthuizen V M. Jones

A shock win for Kuchar over Els gives Logans a 1-0 lead at the half. Not much to pick and choose elsewhere, Logans have a slight edge but I fancy Hotpot to overturn it late on.

Exeter Up Start (2-0-0) v Bye

Choi V Kuchar - Kuchar wins 3-2

A storming late fightback from Rhys Davies is enough to share the spoils

The gents persuader (1-0-1) V Hellmole (0-1-0)

Kaymer V Mickelson - Mickelson wins
Els V McIlroy - McIlroy wins
Donald V Els - Donald wins
Watney V Cabrera - Match halved 1.5-2.5
Donaldson V Marino - Marino wins 1.5-3.5
Zanotti V Pe. Lawrie - Lawrie wins 1.5-4.5

An absolute drubbing for tgp, gives Hellmole her first victory & she remains unbeaten

BigJonS (1-0-0) V Pa102aw (0-1-1)

Els V Villegas - Villegas wins
Furyk V Watney - Furyk wins
Mahan V E. Molinari - Molinari wins
Donald V GFC - Donald wins 2-2
Z. Johnson V Cabrera-Bello - Johnson wins 3-2
Wood V Ogilvie - Wood wins 4-2

After taking an early 2-1 lead, Pa's team capitulated in the bottom 3 matches going down 4-2 leaving Big Jon's 100% record intact.

Spencer4 (1-1-0) V TFG (1-0-1)

Mickelson V Mickelson - Match halved
Donald V Els - Donald wins
T. Clark V Furyk - Furyk wins
F. Molinari V T. Clark - Match halved 2-2
JB Holmes V Davies - Davies wins 2-3
Ramsay V Donaldson - Match halved 2.5-3.5

TFG show a lot of fighting spirit to claim this one late on. Tim Clark's performance proving to be the pivotal element of the result

Stu961 (0-1-1) v Bye

1. BigJonS 2-2-0-0-7.5-4.5-4
2. TFG 3-2-0-1-9.5-8.5-4

8. Pa102aw 3-0-1-2-7.5-10.5-1
9. Stu961 2-0-1-1-4-8-1

Very much nip & tuck in division A, Big Jon and Hellmole look to be handily placed but none of the teams can afford to rest on their laurels just yet.

DIV B

Trickster (1-0-1) V Lister (1-1-0)

Mickelson V Mickelson - Match halved
Els V Els - Match halved
Mahan V Donald - Donald wins
Jiminez V P.Hanson - Jiminez wins 2-2
Watney V Gallacher - Gallacher wins 2-3
Choi V Khan - Choi wins 3-3

A hard fought draw, which neither side will be too disappointed with at this stage of the season.

Padmole (0-0-2) V Mr Green (0-0-1)

Els V Mickelson - Mickelson wins
Mahan V Furyk - Furyk wins
Watney V Moore - Moore wins
E. Molinari V B. Watson - Molinari wins 1-3
F. Molinari V Fraser - Molinari wins 2-3
Derksen V Blanks - Match halved 2.5-3.5

Padmole always had a mountain to climb trailing 3-0 in the top half matches, a late fightback only thwarted by a Derksen-Blanks stalemate.

Jonathan (0-0-1) V Toffeelover (2-0-0)

Mickelson V Els - Mickelson wins
R. Fisher V Donald - Donald wins
YE Yang V T. Clark - Match halved
Kuchar V McDowell - McDowell wins 1.5-2.5
van Pelt V F. Molinari - van Pelt wins 2.5-2.5
Barnes V Davies - Davies wins 2.5-3.5

Both teams keep their perfect records, but a top quality finish with Rhys Davies battling back from a seemingly impossible position to best Ricky Barnes in the decider.

Hotpot (0-1-1) V Logans Run (1-0-1)

Mickelson V Furyk - Mickelson wins
Els V Kuchar - Kuchar wins
Donald V Jaidee - Donald wins
Kuchar V Choi - Kuchar wins 3-1
F. Molinari V Pe. Lawrie - Lawrie wins 3-2
Oosthuizen V M. Jones - Oosthuizen wins 4-2

A storming second half from Hotpot see's him gain his first success in the Matchplay format

Exeter Up Start (2-0-0) v Bye

1. Toffeelover 3-3-0-0-10.5-7.5-6
T2. Exeter Up Start 2-2-0-0-8-4-4
T2. Lister 3-1-2-0-11-7-4
T4. Hotpot 3-1-1-1-9.5-8.5-3
T4. Trickster 3-1-1-1-9.5-8.5-3

6. Logans Run 3-1-0-2-7-11-2

8. Jonathan 2-0-0-2-4.5-7.5-0
9. Padmole 3-0-0-3-6-12-0

Things looking much more defined in division B, Toffee looking good for a QF appearance & Exeter's game in hand means he is also in a strong position. Paddy is far from out of this one but needs to string some wins together pronto.

June 10th - Estoril Open de Portugal & St. Jude Classic - Grp Match 4/9

DIVISION A

Kdub (5th/3pts) V TFG (2nd/4pts)

Harrington v Allenby
Schwartzel v Schwartzel - Match halved
Wood v Crane
van Pelt v Collins
Barnes v O. Fisher
O. Fisher v Gronberg

With Kdub going in 2 men light TFG assumes the position of the favourite, despite their vastly differing League positions. Can Kdub pull off the upset win ?

TGP (7th/2pts) V Stu961 (9th/1pt)

Westwood - Westwood - Match halved
Allenby - Allenby - Match halved
Toms v Donald
Storm v Choi
Levin v Appleby
Lyle v Howell III

A bottom of the table clash, with the top 2 matches halved already. In the remaining 4 fixtures Stu has 2 no-shows so tgp will be hoping to push into the QF places this weekend

Hellmole (3rd/3pts) V Spencer4 (5th/3pts)

McIlroy v Westwood
Allenby v Holmes
Crane v Dredge
A. Canizares v K. Stadler
Coles v Goya
Stroud v Henry

A rare event this week with all 12 playing and no early halves. Could go either way with both teams looking weak in the last 3 matches. A draw on the cards ?

Man U #1 Fan (4th/3pts) V BigJonS (1st/4pts)

Gay v Els
Crane v Mahan
Slocum v Schwartzel
R. Davies v Donald - Match halved
Flesch v Z. Johnson
Fraser v Wood

Man U will be looking to get off to a flyer here and have a good half time lead. Big Jon looks set for a stroming 2nd half though and this could be a humdinger

Pa102aw (8th/1pt) V Bye

DIVISION B

Trickster (4th/3pts) V Logans Run (6th/2pts)

Mickelson v Harrington
Westwood v Furyk
Villegas v Crane
Choi v Chalmers - Match halved
Merrick v M. Jones
A. Canizares v Atwal

Casualties galore in this fixture & it's hard to make a case for Logans run with just 2 active players

Padmole (9th/0pts) V Exeter Up Start (2nd/4pts)

Westwood v McIlroy
Harrington v Villegas
E. Molinari v Wood
F. Molinari v Cejka
Petrovic v Fraser
Stroud v Mulroy

Paddy in danger of slipping to an 0-0-4 start, needs to get very lucky to win this one.

Mr Green (7th/2pts) V Hotpot (4th/3pts)

Westwood v Mickelson
Poulter v Westwood
Fraser v Kuchar
Blanks v Rock
Price v Pernice Jnr
Waring v O. Fisher

Another fixture cursed with no shows, leaving Mr Green a worthy favourite to leapfrog Hotpot in the division.

Lister (2nd/4pts) V Jonathan (8th/0pts)

Westwood v Westwood - Match halved
Crane v Schwartzel
Flesch v Crane
Atwal v Barnes - Match halved
Gallagher v Price
Riley v Thatcher

2 games halved already, Ben Crane pivotal in 2 others. Match 5 will be decided at half time leaving the anchor match to decide this one. Jonathan is favoured for the win - can that be right ???

Toffeelover (1st/6pts) V Bye

despite trailing 1.5-2.5 Kdub will be confident of grabbing at least a point here with Crane & Gronberg falling away whilst Fisher & Wood have climbed the ranks

Westwood - Westwood - Match halved
Allenby - Allenby - Match halved

Mickelson v Harrington - Harrington wins
Westwood v Furyk - Westwood wins

A. Canizares v Atwal - Canizares wins

Trickster can rest easy, leading 3.5 to 1.5 with just 1 result to come

Westwood v McIlroy
Harrington v Villegas
E. Molinari v Wood - Wood wins
F. Molinari v Cejka - Cejka wins

Paddy trailing 0.5-2.5 but set for a storming comeback victory - can Paddy throw away more points....or is this the start of the Mole's season.

Mr Green (7th/2pts) V Hotpot (4th/3pts)

Westwood v Mickelson - Westwood wins
Poulter v Westwood - Westwood wins
Fraser v Kuchar - Fraser wins
Blanks v Rock - Rock wins
Price v Pernice Jnr - Pernice Jnr wins
Waring v O. Fisher

2-3 in Hotpot's favour, the anchor match still in the balance though

Westwood v Westwood - Match halved
Crane v Schwartzel - Crane wins
Flesch v Crane - Crane wins
Atwal v Barnes - Match halved
Gallagher v Price - Gallagher wins

9. Stu961 3-0-1-2-6-12-1

The bottom two getting somewhat cast adrift, although both have a game in hand on most of their opponents. TFG hits the top inexplicably given his overall league position. The top 4 remain with just tgp gaining any ground

DIVISION B

Trickster (4th/3pts) V Logans Run (6th/2pts)

Mickelson v Harrington - Harrington wins
Westwood v Furyk - Westwood wins
Villegas v Crane - Villegas wins
Choi v Chalmers - Match halved 2.5-1.5
Merrick v M. Jones - Merrick wins 3.5-1.5

E. Molinari v Wood - Wood wins
F. Molinari v Cejka - Cejka wins 1-3

Westwood v Mickelson - Westwood wins
Poulter v Westwood - Westwood wins
Fraser v Kuchar - Fraser wins

Westwood v Westwood - Match halved

9. Padmole 4-0-0-4-8.5-15.5-0

It's beginning to look like 5 teams chasing 4 spots. Points difference could prove to be crucial

Time for a break from the Matchplay, as we focus on the 2nd Major next week - the US Open at Pebble Beach.

Thanks TFG, this little comp has been a fun side game, not very often can one boast a 100% record!

Good luck to everyone focused on the 2nd Major, should be a lot of points flying about - I'm sure we will see a fair chunk of FISO names rising through the ranks this week... :)

Kdub v Hellmole

Harrington 28 v Els -2
Schwartzel 15 v P. Hanson -2
Jiminez 2 v Jeev Milka Singh 17
van Pelt 2 v Rumford -2 (3-1)
Barnes 23 v Canizares 14 (4-1)
O. Fisher 12 v Stroud 2 (5-1)

Kdub cruises to a comfortable win, leading 3-0 at the half and not easing up in the late fixtures. Hellmole's first loss.

MU#1Fan v Pa102aw

Kaymer 2 v Casey 2
Crane 0 v Schwartzel 15
P. Hanson -2 v GFC 2
van Pelt 2 v Cabrera-Bello 22 (0.5-3.5)
Fraser 2 v Chopra -2 (1.5-3.5)
Gallacher 7 v Ogilvie 2 (2.5-3.5)

First big shock of the week as Pa holds on after leading 2-1 at the half. Pa's first win 8-)

Big Jon S v TFG

Els -2 v Schwartzel 15
Mahan -2 v Scott -2
Schwartzel 15 v Gay -2 (1.5-1.5)
GFC 2 v Donaldson -2 (2.5-1.5)
Echinique -2 v O. Fisher 12 (2.5-2.5)
Couch -2 v Gronberg -2 (3-3)

A very scrappy error prone match that was finished at the half, honours even and you'd imagine both Managers are happy enough with that

Spencer4 v Stu961

Kaymer 2 v Mahan -2
Dredge 27 v Fowler 10
Barnes 23 v Appleby 2
Stadler -2 v Howell III -2 (3.5-0.5)
Goya 2 v Molder 2 (4-1)
Henry 7 v Finch 2 (5-1)

Stu gets hammered 5-1 for the second time this season & his hopes of advancing to the quarters grow ever slimmer. Spencer moves into the top 4.

The Gents Persuader v Bye

1. TFG 5-3-1-1-16.5-13.5-7
2. Spencer4 5-2-1-2-16.5-13.5-5
T3. MU#1Fan 5-2-1-2-16-14-5
T3. BigJonS 4-2-1-1-13-11-5
------------------------------
T5. Kdub 5-2-1-2-15.5-14.5-5
T5. Hellmole 4-2-1-1-12.5-11.5-5
7. TGP 4-2-0-2-12-12-4
8. Pa102aw 4-1-1-2-11-13-3
9. Stu961 4-0-1-3-7-17-1

TFG's miracle run continues and he now has a 2 point advantage at the top of the table, the scrap below takes on epic proportions with 5 teams on 5 points, whilst tgp & Pa are tucked in just behind - Stu is still on 'mission possible' but you suspect one more defeat might be the death knell to his season.

Div B.

Trickster v Mr Green

Mahan -2 v Moore 10
P. Hanson -2 v van Pelt 2
Merrick 7 v Donaldson -2
Canizares 14 v Fraser 2 (2-2)
Finch 2 v Blanks 14 (2-3)
Luiten 17 v Price 2 (3-3)

A good fightback from Trickster, trailing 2-1 at half time managed to nick a point

Lister v Toffeelover

Els -2 v Casey 2
P. Hanson -2 v Els -2
Atwal 2 v McDowell 0
Gallacher 7 v van Pelt 2 (2.5-1.5)
Khan 2 v Driscoll 2 (3-2)
Riley 20 v Ruiz 2 (4-2)

A scrappy affair 1.5 all at the half and then Lister took over. Toffee's 100% record bites the dust but Lister remains unbeaten & looks ominous - the team to beat ?

Jonathan v Logans run

Westwood 0 v Casey 2
Schwartzel 15 v Harrington 28
van Pelt 2 v Jaidee 2
Barnes 23 v Chalmers 2 (1.5-2.5)
Price 2 v Pe. Lawrie 6 (1.5-3.5)
Thatcher -2 v Jones 10 (1.5-4.5)

Nothing going right for Jonathan in this competition, a fair effort from his team is rewarded with a 4.5-1.5 defeat. 2-0 down at the half was just too big a mountain to climb. The weight of the defeat is enough to lift the non playing Padmole from the foot of the table.

Hotpot v Exeter up start

Fowler 10 v Kaymer 2
De Jonge 14 v Els -2
Jones 10 v Cejka 22
Pernice -2 v Fraser 2 (2-2)
Couch -2 v Blanks 14 (2-3)
O. Fisher 12 v Canete 2 (3-3)

A game that tooed and froed from one side to the other before settling in the middle with a 3-3 draw. Like Toffee, Exeter loses his 100% start however the Exonians retain their unbeaten record. Hotpot's point moves him into the Quarter Final berths at the expense of Toffeelover.

Padmole v Bye

1. Lister 5-3-2-0-19-11-8
2. Exeter Up Start 4-3-1-0-14.5-9.5-7
3. Trickster 5-2-2-1-17-13-6
4. Hotpot 5-2-2-1-16-14-6
--------------------------------
5. Toffeelover 4-3-0-1-12.5-11.5-6
6. Logans Run 5-2-0-3-13-17-4
7. Mr Green 4-1-1-2-11.5-12.5-3
8. Jonathan 4-0-0-4-8-16-0
9. Padmole 4-0-0-4-8.5-15.5-0

Logans Run moves back into the race, whilst Jonathan and Paddy are moving into miracle territory. Can anyone lower Lister or Exeter's colours
