what are some benefits and flaws of them?
Graphite - Incredibly lightweight. But can shatter into thousands of pieces. I didn't think manufacturers still made them. Brine/STX made them for a short period in the early/mid 90s and quickly stopped.
Titanium - Supposedly stronger, and lighter. Titanium might be a stronger metal, however through the years after initial introduction, the walls have gotten thinner. To me this negated the effect of the stronger material.
Aluminum - Cheap. Middle of the road as far as weight/strength.
Since you aren't considering wood, weight really isn't a factor. If you can tell the difference in a few ounces, you need to hit the gym. Only time it might make a difference if you are a defenseman since you have much more shaft to deal with.
Personally I liek aluminum. There is no guarantee the Titanium you spent tons of money on, will not bend as easily as aluminum. For the price of one titanium, you could replace many aluminum sticks.
